"O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you may (learn) self-restraint,-" Al Quran, Chapter 2, Verse 183.

The following are some of the projects we are focused on recently as well as some Ramadan projects. Please join us in these efforts, and may Allah (SWT) reward you and bring you closer to Him:

Zakat (Obligatory Charity)
Hidaya Foundation collects and distributes Zakat donations per Islamic guidelines as mentioned in Al-Quran, Surah At-Tawbah, Chapter 9, Verse 60. Click here to donate towards this project.

Fidya (Compensation for not fasting during Ramadan)
Hidaya distributes Fidya among the deserving in the form of dry ration to those qualified to receive Zakat.  This year, the suggested minimum cost for fidya is $3.50 for each day of missed fasts, however one can give more if they would like and more poor would benefit.

One Million Meals
Every year, Hidaya Foundation strives to provide one million meals to those in dire need throughout the world by offering dry ration food packages as well as cooked meals.

  • This year, for $50 you can provide a family with dry ration package which includes: 50 kg rice or wheat, 25 kg red lentils (un-split), 5 liters cooking oil, and 10 bars (1500g) of bathing soap.

Hidaya Foundation uses Sadaqat-ul-Fitr donations to provide food in the form of wheat, barley, grain, etc. for the less fortunate. This year, the suggested minimum cost for Sadaqat-ul-Fitr is $7.00 per person.

Orphans Projects

Hidaya currently supports over 10,000 orphans and over 5,000 of their widowed mothers or guardians under two projects:

Clean Drinking Water
To date, Hidaya has installed over 5,000 water hand pumps and distributed over 5 million gallons of water via the water tanker to benefit hundreds of thousands of people!
  • Water Hand Pumps - The average cost of installing a hand pump in South Asia is about $300 per pump.
  • Delivery with Water Tanker - It costs just $10 per round for a 1,200 gallon tanker to give water to hundreds of people.

Sitara-e-Isaar Awarded to Hidaya Foundation

Hidaya Foundation was awarded Sitara-i-Eisaar (Star of Sacrifice) by the Government of Pakistan, in recognition of the results-oriented relief efforts during the 2005 earthquake in Pakistan.
